Google Keyword Research for Website Search Optimization

Picking the right keyword or keyword phrase can help when search engine optimizing your content to get ranked higher on Google organic search rankings, which translates to more traffic and therefore more sales. Before creating any new website or piece of content, one of the most important things to consider is which of these keywords to optimize for.

Keyword Research Using Free Keyword Research Tool:

Google has a great free keyword research tool you can use, if you don't feel like spending money on keyword research tools. The only difference is that the paid keyword research tools allow you to take shortcuts and save you time.

Before moving forward I want to break the category of Keywords down from broad terms, "market Keywords," to the subcategory of "niche keywords" which are smaller and more targeted. From there We can drill down even further to "micro niche keywords" which become extremely targeted.

As a rule, you generally want to search for the subcategory "niche keywords" or "micro niche keywords" because their is far less competition then with "market keywords," making it much easier to rank on google. For instance, to rank for Network Marketing tips (101,000 sites listed) is way easier then ranking for Network Marketing (11,800,000 sites listed).

To start your keyword research all you want to do is go to the Google keyword tool and type in your market keyword and get keyword ideas. From here I like to sort by approximate search volume. Any keywords over 10,000 are probably too competitive, and you dont want to go much lower then 1,000.

Once you have broken down these results, you want to begin typing them into google search. Keywords with less than 50,000 competitve sites listed (150,000 with advanced SEO skills) are the keywords you want to use to build your web pages and build your content. Strategically disperse these keywords throughout your content to rank high on google.
